Practitioners observe children closely and respond to their interests, and recognise that children develop at different rates. Adults support learning by interacting with children, extending their thinking and creating environments that encourage discovery and sustained engagement. Children also have regular access to outdoor learning spaces, which further enhance and extend the opportunities available across the Early Years curriculum.

The Early Year Foundations Stage Framework is organised into seven areas of learning and development:

  • Personal, Social, and Emotional Development

  • Communication and Language

  • Physical Development

  • Literacy

  • Mathematics

  • Understanding the World

  • Expressive Arts and Design

As children progress from Nursery and Reception, a greater emphasis is placed on learning skills that will support and prepare them for Year One. In the Early Years curriculum we provide:

  • Quality and consistency between the classes

  • A secure foundation through learning opportunities which cater to the needs of the children

  • Partnership working between parents and teachers

  • Equality of opportunity to support children of all backgrounds
